This picture really doesn't capture all the details of the kitchen. Grandmother is laying the table with handpainted porselin that my mom brought back from Europe this summer. In the background there are frypans, pots, baking , spices, and a toaster with bread that actually pops out. My parents bought them for me at an antique exhibition in Sweden. That was one of the happiest days of my childhood. I cross stitched the wall hanging to read "Home Sweet Home" but it doesn't show too well in the picture.
I had a friend named Kristina in Sweden and we were the only two who had dollhouse obsessions. We used to pretend that our families were related (she had dolls from the same company so the parents looked identical) and at Christmas and birthdays we would make presents for each other from one family to the other. The tea bag on top of the oven was made by her.
