The living room is one of the cosiest rooms in the house because the fire place and glass lamp create such a warm atmosphere. My mom made the sofas and coffee table for me over a decade ago. I still question her choice of pink corduroy, but I think the fabric might have came from the trimming of a pair of hot pink overalls that I vaguely remember having. How horrible. I made the decorations such as the flowers, candles, and the newspaper rack. The apples are real berries that fell from some sort of bush. I got them from an ajuma at a random store near Gyungbookgung.
The living room extends further to the right, where I tried to create a Korean focus.
I found a Korean furniture makign kit at Insadong and this inspired me to redesign my dollhouse with an Asian touch to it. The pot in the window is a bead I bought in Namdaemun. I made the wallhanging from a piece of ribbon and cutout of an envelope with Chinese writing all over it. The little desk is where the bills are handled. I repainted and decorated an old red chair to make it better fit the slight antique look. I made the receipt holding thing back in elementary.
