*Serenity Prayer*

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

*Footprints*

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. Hor each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understant why when I needed you most you would leave me.
The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

The Cross in my Pocket

I carry a cross in my pocket
a simple reminder to me
of the fact that I am a Christian
no matter where I may be.

This little cross is not magic
nor is it a good luck charm
it isn't meant ot protect me
from every physical harm.

It's not for identification
it's simply an understanding
between my savior and me.

When I put my hand in my pocket
to bring out a coin or a key
the cross is there to remidn me
of the price He paid for me

It reminds me too, to be thankful
for my blessings day by day
and to strive to serve Him better
in all I do and say

It's also a daily reminder
of the peace and comfort I share
with all who know my Master
and give themselves to His care.

So, I carry a cross in my pocket
Reminding no one but me
that Jesus Christ is Lord in my life
if only i'll let him be
