Our Munich apartment (outside)
Our Munich apartment is tiny. No doubt about that. But, it's within walking distance of town (or a couple of stops on the U-Bahn) and we've got a balcony. Plus, it's extremely cheap at only DM760 a month!!! Munich is notorious within Germany for it's lack of apartments (a big election issue), so we could have done a lot worse.
Here's our U-Bahn stop.
Here's a composite photo of the view from the balcony. As winter approaches, the tree to the right of the photo loses its leaves giving us a nice view of the European Alps in the distance.
The apartment faces south-east, so the sun rises right in front of the balcony and stays there for most of the day (as opposed to in the southern hemisphere, where north-facing apartments are in demand). Here are some nice shots of the sunrise. European skies are so crowded with planes, each leaving their own trail, that it sometimes looks cloudy when it's not.
Here's a photo of the apartment from outside. Nowhere near as nice as the apartments in Sydney or Auckland, but hey, this is Europe.
And here's one of the neighboring street, to give you an idea of what Munich suburbia is like.
