Our new Sydney apartment

We were very fortunate to find an apartment a couple of days after arriving in Sydney. We found this one on the first day we actually went looking.

Here's the approximate location of the apartment. As you can see, we were very close to the centre of the city.

Our tour starts from the outside. The building itself is very close (less than 1 minute's walk) to Oxford Street. We' were also that close to an awesome supermarket (open from 7am until midnight seven days a week), drycleaners, bottle shop, video store and two record stores...

Here's the lobby. The lifts are on the left, and that white door you see in front of you leads to the pool and gym area - where we're heading next.

The building has a pool, spa and sauna, as well as a ...

... gym. Let's head up to the apartment.

Here's what you see when you walk into the apartment. The kitchen is great. It's got a gas stove with fan-forced electric oven, and a dishwasher. To the left is the lounge, including the sofa-bed that we bought for visitors who come to stay - it's comfy, with an inner-spring mattress instead of the usually awful things that manufacturers throw on their sofa-beds.

Here's our almost-empty lounge.  This was taken before we had bought any furniture apart from the sofa-bed.  No TV, no dining table.  Just a view out to the balcony.

Speaking of the balcony. here's part of the view. The view isn't that great, but the balcony was great for barbecues.

Heading back inside, you ask to see what the bedroom looks like. Your guide tells you that you're not allowed to see in there. But as a consolation, you get another view of the empty lounge (to the kitchen).

Oh, you want to see the bathroom? OK. Here it is. Makes a nice change from the bright pink of the last apartment in Cologne (Germany), doesn't it?

Here are a couple of pictures taken from the roof of the building. This is where we sunbathed under the hot Sydney sun.

Hope you enjoyed the tour.
