It's a time-honored festival, and features the displaying of dolls on a tier of shelves covered with bright cloth. Usually a set consisits of at least 15 dolls, all garbed in gorgeous ancient costmes. The display also includes various miniature household articles. Typical items are a chest of crawers, a dining set, a dressing-table, musical instruments, and a hibachi or charcoal brazier. The most highly prized dolls are called the Dairisama, representing th Emperor and Empress, garbed in resplendent court costumes of silk. They are attended by their minisiters, court ladies and musicians. The Imperial couple always occupy the top shelf, with the Emperor seated to the left of the Empress. To complete the decorations, peach blossoms are used, for in Japan, they symbolize happiness in marriage. After being on display for about two weeks, the dolls are carefully put away, with one treasures. blah blah blah The dolls are very expensive though the dolls are displayed a pair of emperor and empress at minimum in the small houses. It is funny, to put away the dolls as soon as festival is over, or "marriageable age" will be behind. In this way, a thing of marriage roots to Japanse traditional powerfully. There are many things to think, I don't know whether the tradition is good or bad. But it is enjoyable festival for little girls.
