Fredericton Lesbians and Gays is a non-profit group dedicated to the interests and well-being of the Fredericton lesbigay community. Started in 1978, with its official founding in 1979 (with the writing of its first constitution), it is New Brunswick's first lesbigay organization and has been in continuous operation since then, apart from the period 1988-91.

In short, FLAG's mission is to foster positive attitudes about homosexuality and bisexuality, both inside and outside the lesbigay community. FLAG works towards these ends through the FLAGline, socials, occasional dances, gay pride activities, political activism, a lending library, a Web site and an electronic mailing list.

FLAG LIBRARY

This extensive collection of gay novels, back issues of the Advocate and Wayves, gay film guides and other non-fiction, including sections on sexuality, coming out, gay plays, gay history, gay rights and gay studies are currently available to FLAG members.

Call 457-2199 to arrange to visit the library. There are some real gems, if you dig deep, it's well worth a look. The material is lent out on an informal monthly basis, or longer if required. Click HERE to see a listing of the library.

FLAG E-MAIL GROUP

The FLAG NEWS SERVICE is a service of Fredericton Lesbians and Gays that has proved to be very popular with recipients over the last few years. Events of interest to the glbt community in Fredericton et les environs, including dances, meetings, films etc. are distributed via the list. Your email address will never be revealed to other members of the list.

You can request the distribution of a message to the list recipients by emailing jwhitehe@unb.ca. No third parties will be added to the list (i.e., you cannot request someone other than yourself be added to the list). If you know of someone who would benefit from the FLAG emails then please ask them to email us themselves.
