People keep asking me what I think generation XY is. Gay generation XY [so named after that chromosome thing] is more a question of attitude than age, isn't it? Like most of you, I came out after 1980. Even with all the bad stuff that goes down, I think our generation has been lucky. Some food for thought - This is the first time in history that there's even been a gay "youth culture." You and I made it happen. We have redefined possibility. XY shows gay as we've lived it. XY's not trying to have an attitude, or be upscale-fashionable, or asexually politically correct. Other magazines do that just fine. Instead, we want to make you think, and maybe open some new doors. If we can make gay a smarter, more sensitive place, we'll be happy. We're excited by XY, and we hope you are too. Have a look. If you're as happy as we are, we'd love you to subscribe - so much so that we'll send you a free XY calendar or XY disk full of amazing stuff. Stay Cool. - Christopher Birch |
