If memory serves (and maybe it doesn't) the film was released in the U.S. after Pasolini's death, but had been released in Italy before Pasolini's death. Also, though Pasoloni was stabbed his body was run over a couple of times by a car (may have been his own) which is not the way it was done in the film. I think the correlation between the final scenes in the film and Pasolini's murder is a bit of apocrypha. Pasolini was supposedly killed by some "rough trade" that he'd picked up. Though this is not disputed, there are those who argue that it was a setup, i.e., that Mr. Rough Trade was a hired killer. The anti-fascism of "120 Days of Sodom" pissed of alot of powerful people who were already pissed off at the content of some of his "religious" films. BTW, though I don't think I saw any woodies in Pasolini's films he did manage to cast several goodlooking, big dicked, Italian guys. Made me wonder if Pasolini was particularly good at casting or if I should've just moved to Italy. Sincerely, Jules
