My next visit was in May 98 when I went with Becky from near me and we picked up Paula from Gloucester on the way. This was a VC gathering, which Helen had organised; we went up on Sat morning and met the others in Paddy's about lunchtime. After a spot of shopping
we made our way to our respective hosts for a rest before we got ready for the evening. I stayed with Jacquie again, which was great, as I knew her from last time.
We all met in Paddy's again before the meal which was in Metz, the food was fabulous again then it was dancing the night away in Naps until the early hours, got home at 3 am again. This was the first time Becky had been to Manchester and she thought it was fab, she was a bit nervous at first but soon got into the swing of things and had a great time. We got home to S.Wales about 3.30 pm Sun.
My next outing should have been to Blackpool in July but due to my relief falling ill I could not get time off.
Then I was due to go to Manchester for Mardi Gras over the August Bank Holiday but I had car problems and could not risk going all that distance with it, and Becky was away on hols so I lost out again.
Next time I go by hook or by crook!
The F2F2 is on for Nov 27th - 29th 1998 and I am going to make it this time. I have bought all new outfits for it and paid my hard cash to Kym for the meal so there is nothing going to stop me this time.
Well I made it and had a smashing time, we arrived at Jacqies about 6 on the Friday and met up with Kirsty who was also staying there. After a quick meal it was time to get ready for our first night out, the usual places (Paddy's Goose, Dotz and Naps) but we had a good night.
The next day Saturday was an experience I shall never forget, my first time out in daylight.
We went shopping in Manchester City Centre dressed and I did not bat an eyelid, in fact I surprised myself on how cool I was, It was brill and I cant wait to do it again.
Then it was home to Jacqies for a bit of food and get ready for the night's festivities.
We all met up in Paddy's before going round to Metz for the meal, which was superb as usual, how they managed with 31 Tg people at the same time I don't know but they did and we even had wine from the management. After that we went to Dotz again for a sing-a-long
and then onto Naps where I actually had a dance this year, perhaps because I'd had a few drinks and was a bit merry but I enjoyed it. Finally got back to the flat at about 3 am after the taxi driver got lost
