BLACK AND WHITE MEN ASSOCIATE
Date: October 3, 1997
At a 'no talent' talent show, a handsome go-go dancer (no talent...?) collects dollarbills. The 'no talent' talent show was part of the National Convention 1997 of the U.S. based National Association of Black and White Men Together, the NABWMT. This convention took place in the South East region of America in July of this year. This convention was the 17th National Convention.
Two conventions are coming up soon. The Midland Fall Regional will be hosted by PACT-Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 10-12. At that same time, the Pacific Fall Regional will take place on the West Coast. Some pictures of visitors of the National Convention below. More pictures can be viewed on NABWMT's website.
The NABWMT is an association of multiracial groups of gay black and white men (groups generally known as MACT, PACT or BWMT) across the USA (with one foreign chapter, from Brazil). They provide a space for black and white men to get together and socialize, and engage in activities to correct and fight negative ideas and stereotypes within the gay community and in society at large.
Most activities are on a local scale. The annual National Convention is one of the few activities on a national scale. The website of NABWMT is another. On this site, news and upcoming events are announced, chapters are listed, members 'that have moved onto another plane' are honored with a memorial page, and a modest amount of links to sites of interest to black and white men are presented.
