Steph's Anime-Manga Worship Zone

About two years ago, my friend Jules introduced me to the concept of Manga and Ainme. For those who aren't aware, Manga means "motionless" in rough Japanes English translation and refers to the drawing style which has evolved originally from wood-block cuts to the many diverse and amazing drawing styles which proliferate today.
Some people insist on (to my chagrin) on referring to these books as "comics" which in some ways is the same as saying that the Bible or the Koran is a "novel". Most people do this because their only exposure to this art-form is through the American style comics which are targetted primarily at adolescents. Material in Manga can be extremely graphic and may cover a range of topics hardly suitable for children.
With the dawn of television, many Manga series were animated for TV. The animated version of Manga is therefore called "Anime". Early series included "Gigantor" and what is known to the west as "Kimba the white lion". Through out the subsequent years, many ground breaking TV series and Movies have been released from japanese Studios and translated for Western consumption. Possibly the most ground-breaking movie was "Akira". TV series include the awe-inspiring "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and the (almost) timeless "Star Blazers".

While this page is not intended to be a comprehensive introduction to the genre, I will list some of my favourites in no particular order.

Steph Favourite Anime or Manga series.
