1:35 am Tuesday 24th August 1999

Here I am up late again. I woke up at 10:00 am and got into the lab a bit later. I got a fair number of reactions done, mostly making starting materials, but also running some 1H NMR to reference my compounds to. Thankfully they seem to agree. Still waiting for my mass spectra though. Got home about 6:00 pm and had dinner (two minute noodles with cheese and pasta sauce), had a shower and majorly crashed out. Woke up again around midnight and have just be cleaning up the email.
I am having coffee with Szusza today at 12:30 pm which should be really great. On Wednesday I'll do lunch with Nikki hopefully. I also finally got an email from Michelle who apparently was tearing her computer apart. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see her one last time before the Ball after which she will disappear from Canberra unfortunately.
Got a email from Mrs D**** today also. Discussed a bit about the social construction of "ways of thinking" and just shooting the breeze. Also got an email from Soba who will hopefully be here at the end of September for a conference.
I'm starting to run a bit low on food, but I should be easily able to hold out until the weekend. Haven't had any bread in quite a while (a week maybe).
Hey! This will be diary entry 100. :) Wow, since I've been writing since 18th July last year, that's about 13 months so (almost exactly 400 days by my calculations) I've been writing at the rate of about one entry every four days. Obviously in the beginning I was a bit slack, but it's certainly picked up. :)

2:40 am – Just been reading my old diary entries, wow how the time seems to have flown. I'm thinking about maybe taking a week off and going home, that would be very nice. I't will probably have to wait a while though.
It's getting pretty late here, so I might use this opportunity and head off to bed.
