It has yet again been quite a while since my last entry. What has been happening? Things continue to be at a stand-still at the laboratory, I have tried a different route without success and am now falling back onto my mesitylene core whilst I attempt to tweak the reaction conditions. I still haven't really done much work on my seminar, but I will copy it mostly from my supervisors talk which is in a few weeks.
On the home front my course of Roaccutane continues, I'm not sure if it is having an effect, or whether it is due to the fact that I am cutting back on having showers. I do tend to smell a little bit, but my skin is so dry that I need every drop of oil left. I will be having another dermatologist appointment in a week or so to check how things are going.
Jennifer, Michelle, Szusza and Nikki went up to Katoomba for the long weekend for the Rio Ball. I'm glad I didn't go, because I spent most of the weekend in the lab doing work, and I think I would have felt tremendously guilty otherwise. Apparently it was quite good, I had a chat with Nikki who rated it as a good experience. I hope to chat with Michelle sometime soon.
Soba came up to Sydney to go out with Time and Sarah and a few others. I was supposed to meet her as her bus came back through Canberra, but I forgot all about it while I was at the lab and by the time I raced over there, the bus had already left and I didn't have her phone number. For some stupid reason my phone will not take messages, so I will have to see to that immediately.
My body clock is back into it's bad old ways again, for the last two days I've been waking up at midday almost and have been going to bed at about 3:00 am plus. *sigh*
I offered to help drive Soba back to the east coast when she finishes her job. I've never been to South Australia, so it will be interesting seeing that part of the country. It will probably be in the first weekend in August which is convenient, since this will be after my talk and immediately before (a week) the city to surf which I must also start training for.
