Ah hem… OK, what happened today? Got up early (again!) and was in the lab at ~8:30 am (eeek!). Worked on my mid-term report until about 1:00 pm when I finally felt I had done as much as I thought I could do on my own. Dropped it off on my supervisors desk and started on the annual report. Got it out of the way in about an hour and dropped it off with my supervisor who brought it back to me later, got me to sign it and that was that out of the way. I expect to get my report back in a few days with lots of red ink on it. Went into Civic to check out my other bank account, got $50 out, bought the paper, a loaf of bread, bought a bus ticket to Sydney for the city-to-surf, and got the phone number of the hotel where I usually stay. I will ring them tomorrow. That used up all the money I got from the bank, so I went back to work and was very uninspired, so since there was nobody around I went home at 5:15 pm. Got home and vegged out. Had dinner, had a snooze, woke up and chatted with Jules for a bit. Seems like he might be getting a job which is very good news, since it means he will have a stable income for ~6 months.
Tonight I have to watch the last part of a documentary series which I've been watching over the past few weeks. I have to dash over to the lab for a bit and then go for a jog. That will suck a lot…
Just sent off email to Nikki and Michelle, looks like I have a busy few social days coming up, probably coffee or lunch with Michelle and Nikki on Thursday, Dinner it seems on Friday with Heather, Susan and that crowd, Soba and Sarah will be coming down on Saturday and Sunday. Then next weekend is the city-to-surf which means Saturday to Monday will be a complete write-off.
1:50 am : Went for a run at 12:10 am after the documentary finished. Over Commonwealth bridge and back again. Maybe 6-7 km. Had a shower and some cereal. Documentary which was on the 20th century was interesting, it was the last episode and concluded that personal opportunities have never been greater, but that problems have never been more acute. Conclusions : Change can be good, change can be bad. Depends on what you make of it.
No plans as yet for what I'll do tomorrow in the lab, maybe I'll make a plan?
Got an email from Michelle who had a very successful first round of laser electrolysis. Weird how everything is bigger about me in general it seems. I'm bigger physically in terms of height and weight. My hands and feet are bigger, by hair is fuzzier and thicker, and even my follicles are like canyons. Just wait 5 years until you see me in a power suit… ;)
Off to bed now…
