Hello everyone, Steve here again. Jeez, you wouldn't believe the mess that Stephanie girl left after her! Stockings and God knows what all over the place, lucky the cleaner didn't come through! ;) Still I'm glad she had a proper chance to jump out, I've missed her and just like all the other girls in my life I love and admire her.

OK, today I was first in the lab at 9:50 am. I set up a reaction and went on a cleaning frenzy (Stephanie is this your doing?). ;) I tidied and tidied for 2 hours and at the end of it the lab didn't look particularly different, but at least my areas were a bit clearer. My reaction didn't appear to work, I thought it might be the starting material, but that was fine by NMR, so I think it might be the particular combination of reactants. I'll get back onto it on Tuesday. Picked up the Mass spectrum which I was hanging on, and thank the Goddess. It really is the Au(PMe3) star dendrimer, and the first of it's kind in the world. Now if I can quickly churn out a few more, I can publish them quickly. The afternoon was spent getting my 500 word mid-term submission checked. Showing my supervisor what I had accomplished and running an Infra-red scan of the new complex. I came home to get my bankcard, and I rang the hotel to confirm my accommodation. I tried to ring Sarah as well, but was only able to leave a message. Apparently she later tried to ring me back at work. I went to the bank and got $300 out to tide me over whilst in Sydney. Provided I eat cheaply, this should be plenty even if I decide to splurge. I went to the supermarket and bought some food and razors, and on my way back I bought a book on alchemical symbolism from Smith's bookshop. Read the Onion and embarrassed myself again by laughing out loud and that was about the most of it. I got home at ~6:00 pm and had some buns with cheese and stuff for dinner (thank God not pasta again). Visited Susan and Jules for a bit, then later I was playing Aliens and I asked Jules to help and he came down and then later Susan came down too. She gave me a hand taking out the studs, and there was quite a bit of caked junk *yuck* behind them. Fortunately I now know how to take them out and put them back in. They require a fair bit of pulling to dislodge, so I may attempt to look for some others whilst I am in Sydney. Susan and Jules tried on most of my wardrobe which I have to admit is certainly "eclectic". The new coat of mine looks good on Jules, and I think he is going to go have a look before the sale closes on Sunday.
So, tomorrow I have to be all packed and ready and at the bus-stop at 12:30 pm, ready for my wonderful 4 hour trip to Sydney. I have a book, I have my new CD player and headphones to try out. My back pack should hopefully make it easier for my wasted muscles to carry it to the hotel, all I have to do is to try and organize things with Sarah. Hopefully she will still be living at her mother's place.
Midnight, very tired off to bed…
