No this is isn't Steph or any of her other incarnation, this is some long-haired lout who just happened to have stumbled on her computer.
Yes, here I am at last, hair and all. It went on this morning, so I guess I'll run through the whole saga.
Susan woke me up at 7:45am, and I finally got out of bed at 8:15am. I had a shower, grabbed some quick breakfast from the bakery and parked my bike outside the Centerpoint arcade. It took a little while for them to get everything together, mainly sorting out and preparing the hair. The two stylists were Gabby and Suzy. Gabby did most of the work. Anyway, for most of the 3 and ½ hours I just sat there and read my book while they fussed about with the hair. It was relatively painless until they got to the area around the temples, and it was rather sensitive there. Suzy had to go at 12:30pm, but by then all the hair had been put on and all that was left was for Gabby to style it. Because it had only just been put on, she didn't want to cut too much, and I made my complimentary shampoo and style for Monday of the next week. It was quite strange looking at it in the mirror, and I wasn't really sure what to make of it.
I paid, thanked Gabby and went and got on my bike. I had tied the hair back with a hair band they had given me, and cycled home. I was fairly paranoid at that point since I was sure everyone was looking at me.
I got home, and didn't see anyone, and so I went up to my room and made some lunch. In the afternoon, I had a sleep from about 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and although I thought about going into the lab, I didn't really want to, because I wanted to be comfortable with my "new look" before too many other people saw it. I just lay around my room for quite a long while. Jules and Susan came down at about 7:00pm to have a look and enquire how it had all gone.
We chatted for quite a long while, and Susan was kind enough to put it into a plat, something which I had not quite managed since it was where I couldn't see it, and because it's curly and hard to handle when you can't see it.
Most of the evening, I didn't do too much, I went to the lab between 9:30pm till 1:30am when I came home via the Mobil service station for dinner.
So, the question is now, do I like it? It's difficult to say. It's a very big change, and I'm still definitely settling into it. Some of the extensions are a bit tight at the moment, and that hurts my scalp a bit, but not too much. All in all I think I like it. I wish my hair at the front was longer, because that would allow me to blend in my fringe with the hair. But that would mean having to let my own hair grow for a further 6-12 months, which would totally suck.
Anyway, it's another step on a road which leads who knows where, I still have to ring this laser electrolysis place, Christine recommended against calling the place in Deakin, and mentioned a place on London Circuit near Moosehead's.
Anyway, I'm going to bed now, tomorrow should be a very interesting day. I tied the lab up, so I guess that that will be a blessing. Still have to see my supervisor if he ever stops working on the review and comes into his office.
