Ick…

Well, I haven't been this hung-over in a while… of course that infers that I hadn't been that drunk for a while the night before.
Last night was the "Schoolgirl's outing" for the DX girls, who consist mainly of Jola, Mishka, Ruth, Emma and myself, with Stuart being the token boi along for the evening. I got changed at home and Mishka picked me and Emma up from Emma's place and we drove to Ruth's. Ruth's parents seemed very laid back, but I guess you get that when you have a whole bunch of SCA people around the place a lot. We drank, had dinner, drank, chatted, drank and then eventually the others started getting changed and we saw just how short Emma's dress was. Jola looked way too convincing, which wasn't hard since she has braces and is only 18 to begin with (normally she looks 21). I had discovered orange stoly's earlier in the day, and so we were knocking those back while we put our makeup on and put our hair into pig-tails complete with tartan ribbon.
Of course, it was fine to do all that at home, however when you get out of the car in the middle of Civic, "What the hell are we doing?" is a common sentence. But we made it to the Gypsy Bar ok and settled into one of the far corners away from the noisy band. We had several rounds of free drinks from some mystery patron, and the evening started to get more and more interesting. Among other things, the slave collar and leash made an appearance, lots of drunk guys, me rescuing Emma on the dance-floor and getting a lot of stares in the mean-time for dancing closer than most girls are supposed to dance in a straight night-club. Also, a carrot, torturing Max, Queen Mishka's many whims, girlie chats in the bathroom with a baby-Goth, a quick trip to the Meridian and then an intriguing trip home with an African cab-driver. I got home and collapsed into bed at 2:45 am, deciding to forgo a drunken phone-call to Allison.
It had been a social day, in the morning I met up with Peta (G) for brunch at Café Essen which was very pleasant. I had actually gotten sufficient sleep in the last few days and so was suprisingly on top of the ball. Peta (B) dropped by after a while, because she hadn't seen the other Peta in many months, so it was a nice little catch-up. I went for a cycle around Civic on what was a pleasantly warm; almost summery, day. I came home and did laundry and chatted to Allison (sometimes I'm not sure how she puts up with my ramblings) and then napped.

Today is supposed to be archery, but what with the hang-over and the wind, I think I'll pass. This afternoon is armouring, but mainly it's beating up on "Hell-Puppy" to get him authorized for Spring War at the start of October. I and a few others won't be going, but there are still a few people going up on a bus.
