It's been a long day. The sum total was that my microanalyses weren't ready this afternoon. These are the last bits of information and I can't submit my thesis without them. The book-binders (who would bind the 9 copies of the thesis) keeps such hours that I need the microanalyses by midday tomorrow, so I can drop the thesis off and pick it up around midday Thursday. At present my deadline is Thursday 1:30 pm when I have an appointment to hand the bound copies of my thesis over to the Higher Degrees Examination Officer. After this I have to jump on a bus to Sydney so that I can be at the US consulate in the CBD at 8 am Friday morning to get my visa processed.
Waiting on other people is never fun. I just hope that the people at the microanalyses centre keep their promise that the samples will be ready tomorrow morning.
Of the 9 copies, one is a special copy which I need to get bound separately. It has my old name in the front, and I have labeled it the "parental edition". It's basically so that they can show off my achievements to the neighbors without having to worry about my true nature being revealed.
Actually, the worst thing at the moment is that I'm consistently woken up by the sun. The fact that it comes through my curtained windows at 5:30 am, doesn't put me on the best edge going into the morning. This weekend is the daylight savings change-over which might be a "would have been useful a month ago" situation.
