Status report on the status report.

Well, today I spent most of my time getting my report together, it certainly wasn't perfect, but it got me through; now to prepare the one for Wednesday. My boss is still making changes to the paper, all I want is to get it out of the way so I can be free to work on new and more interesting areas.
The heat down here is completely destroying me. I came home about 6:30 pm hoping to have a rest and cool down before going to the open mike night at the book shop at the mall. As it turned out, I was so exhausted and hot that I didn't even bother. It doesn't bode well for the rest of the summer alas.

The crushing sleeper-hold of reason.

Well, today was alright as they go. I woke up late and had to go by the supermarket to grab something for lunch. As I cycled into the car park, I saw Nina going the other way. I called out and we had a quick chat, she's been busy looking for a new place and I mentioned that I had been flat out also. We parted and after I bought some bagels I headed into work. I had a couple of reactions on the go, a usual kind of day, and then in the afternoon the meeting which fortunately went pretty well. The fact that I had already talked on Monday probably gave rise to my boss having little extra to say. I left at 5 pm, the earliest I've gone home in months. I cycled home, put a load of laundry in the machine, washed my hair, vacuumed the floor,  bought some groceries and now I just had dinner. The rest of the night will hopefully be spent asleep.
Last night at gaming was fun, though I didn't get home until well after midnight. I keep having second thoughts about whether I want to leave this job or not, the friends I have made down here are wonderful and the chemistry I do is quite interesting. The down sides are that my boss is rather erratic and the whether is a killer. I honestly do not know "should I stay or should I go".

Bling?

Another day, another blister. Today at lunch I cycled my bike a few miles to Bird Road where the nearest phlebotomist was. (C'mon look it up). ;) Fortunately they accepted my insurance, so no bill to pay, I waited about 45 minutes all up and they took what they needed to make sure my clotting factors were ok for surgery. I cycled home, which may not have been the best thing and I leaked a little extra red juice. I was fairly productive in the afternoon and came home about 5:30 pm to snooze and then chatted to Mum on the phone.

11:20 pm - She called me, reached down through my self-inflicted gloom and pulled me to the surface with her love.
