It was after midnight last night when she called, I knew it couldn't be anyone else. I answered the phone and the first thing she said was "I love you so very much".
I can't help but smile. :)
It's been bouncing around in my head for a while, I doubt it's anything that hasn't been thought of before, but I figured I'd put it in my diary anyway. I call it "Historical Copericanism".
Copernicus was the Renaissance astronomer who was most well know for his support of the theory that the earth revolves around the sun, and that consequently that humans do not enjoy a privileged position in space. In terms of history, I cannot help but advance the same theory, that if you were to take a person from any point in history (past, present or future) they would think most highly of the time they were from. In reality it is all relative to the observer, for example fundamentalist Christians always believe they are living in the "End Times" despite the fact that it has been +2000 years and the end times never arrived for all those previous generations.
I'm not sure if this theory has any practical use, but even if it doesn't, it shares that fact with 95% of other sociological theories.
