Well, I've spent most of this evening sitting at my computer reading old diary entries. 1999 and 2000 really were my finest hours, the hurdles and confusion I overcame really set the scene for my future success. Of course, it sucks that I can't be back with those close friends in Canberra with who I shared so much. All, I can do is to forge ahead and make the best of where I am now.
Where am I now? Well, the chemistry is not going particularly well. I'm suffering from a lack of leadership from my supervisors, as well as a lack of motivation and direction. Perhaps I need a holiday to take time and refocus, the tickets to Sydney are as low as they will ever get (~$733). But I think that it would only delay the problem, I'll be meeting with my supervisors on Monday anyway.
And a quick plug for Venus Envy. Definitely the best comic on the internet. :)
Well, it's been an ok day, I didn't do anything much rather than spend time at the lab, but I got an interesting result towards the end of the day which is good. Things have been quiet otherwise, with work taking up most of my time, especially on the weekends. I went for s short jog yesterday and today in an attempt to keep my fitness levels up a bit from what they've fallen too. I usually cycle a mile to work and then back home again each day, so my life is not completely without some exertion, but I'm a lab rat, so what can you expect? Of course it has perks…
