Marie Curie (1867-1934)

This town is so dead I'm expecting to look out my window and see tumbleweeds blowing by. Actually, it's not that bad, although the people I know are out of town for the weekend and/or Summer, but fortunately I am able to keep myself amused.
Last night for example, I did go and see “Pirates of the Caribbean” which was fun, albeit a little longer than it might have been. I rode the little moped over to the cinema, and got there just as the previews were starting. Nothing says “the end of Summer” more than sitting through previews of movies which have already been released, in some cases months ago. I got around 1 am, and there was a heavy smell of smoke in the air.

The next day, I work up around 10 am, and I looked out my window. The source of the smoke itself was unknown, but that there was a huge pall of it over the valley was immediately apparent. I couldn't see any of the mountains surrounding town and it remained like that the whole day. It was a fairly boring day, I did some shopping and then went for a cycle. I came home, talked to Ally, ate and then snoozed. I woke up in the afternoon, ate some more and felt really sick. I decided to go for a bicycle ride and I definitely went for a few miles. I came home and was immediately bored, and so I went to the lab out of habit.
I came home, and Tiffany had arrived back from her trip home. I talked to her on the phone for a while, and then called Ally, to find she was watching movies with Richard. I don't really know what I'm going to do tonight, it's still early for me and I'm not tired. I returned most of my library book today, so maybe it's time to get the inventive part of my brain moving.
