Define irony.

Wow, another week come and gone. I'm not sure whether to be happy that it's finished or annoyed that I didn't get more done.
Tuesday night I went to a campus safety seminar out of support of Levi who is in charge of my little apartment complex. These things are usually horribly attended, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to be informed, and the other alternative was to go for a long overdue jog. It was ok, and right at the end there were door prizes to thank people for coming. We sat through the drawings, and out of a dozen people 11 got prizes and one didn't, can you guess who didn't? Well, I felt pretty black after that, it reminded me too much of school where people wouldn't sit next to, or even on the same table as me, where I was always the one left out.

Wednesday was a new day, and a busy one at that. The freshman was in the lab in the afternoon and he is a good guy and a hard worker. Then there was class in the evening to get out of the way too before I could come home to crash. Monday had been our group presentation for the same class which I'm happy to say went well, especially after all the work we'd done getting it ready.

Thursday was again the usual crazy day, I had the seniors to supervise before running off to a meeting in the afternoon. I usually try to avoid dominating these meetings, but this particular day I wasn't going to put up with any fluff. I drilled and grilled each person about what they had to show and where things were going, and we got out just before 3 pm. The reason I was all bossy was because I had an economics exam at 3:30 pm and which I hadn't had much chance to study for (or not much by my standards). It ended up that the exam did go ok, this is a freshman class, so it's not the most strenuous course, but I want to do well. After that I had to return some computer stuff to a store and then do some shopping. The traffic was nuts and the wind was gusting which is a sure fire way to get me pissed off, so I was pretty annoyed when I got home to find my moped knocked over by the wind. I really could have done with a beer that night, but I declined.

Today was ok, I received some articles I'd requested and I'd had a chance to talk to another research group about doing some experiments with their instruments. I talked to my boss briefly, s well as the engineer from this company. Alas any money is likely to arrive later rather than sooner, I just hope I'll still be here when it comes. I wanted to get my boots repaired, this was the pair of Fluevog cowboy boots I'd bought in Vancouver. I haven't worn them since the Dope/Zug island/Society One concert back in May and they were covered in mud. I cleaned them last Sunday to find that part of the heel had come off on one of them which was annoying. After work today I cycled down to talk to one of the two shoe repair shops in town, but they said it would take 5 days! I might talk to the other shop tomorrow before dropping them off.

Tonight I'm not sure what I'll do, we all may end up going out again like last week, my energy isn't amazingly high, but it might pick up.
