Wow, hard to believe that in 3 weeks, the semester will be over and I'll be flying home. I'm not ready for the 14 hour trip to Taiwan, nor the 10 hour trip from there to Sydney, but in less time than I know I'll be sitting in a whole series of transfer lounges. Yesterday I ordered some books online, “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown and “Quicksilver” by Neil Stephenson. Both of them are about 3 inches thick and are designed to keep me amused on the flights to and from Australia.
Today was another very quiet day, almost the last of this lonely long weekend. Hopefully I'll remember how to speak by the time everyone comes back to town. Now I truly understand why so many people loathe the holiday season. I cycled out to *-Mart to return some things as well as to get some exercise. I spent some time at the lab and I was intending to go and see “Master and Commander”, but I ended up going to the wrong theatre.
Other than that I really didn't do much else. Rather depressing actually, but I already did my depression stint on Thursday.
