I really haven't seen anyone since before thanksgiving. Everyone came back from the holiday and threw themselves into their studies. I understand that it is Finals week coming up, but I guess I had hoped for some greater social contact.
I was very grateful by the time Monday arrived, the holiday cheer and happiness was continuing to grate. Sunday however I'd had the bright idea of going for a run, and all my muscles were aching on Monday and Tuesday. To ass insult to injury I was having stomach cramps on Tuesday after eating a bad pear. If that wasn't enough I was suffering from a terrible malaise. I just couldn't think of anything useful to do with my materials. This is probably due to having worked with them for a year and only making slow progress. Fortunately Thursday I was able to kick out of that and Friday was fairly good to.
My boss is leaving for a Xmas holiday in Puerto Rico this time next week which will be nice. It will be especially nice after the snow storm which came through here on Wednesday night. It was overcast when I went into my evening class about 7:30 pm and when I got out at 8:30 pm the snow was falling heavily. Coming home on my bike I got quite covered, and the campus the next morning was rather postcard like.
Most of the publicity photos of the campus show wonderful green lawns and the like, neglecting the fact that the grass is usually either dead or covered in snow for about 10 months of the year.
I talk to my Mum on the phone tonight which was nice. It's less than 3 weeks until Xmas, so everything here will soon disappear. People will go home and I'll be left to pack and start my long journey home. I did manage to get my Amazon order of “Da Vinci Code” and “Quicksilver” which will hopefully keep me entertained.
