I always seem to do most of my writing in transit lounges, and so here I am again. I am on my way down to see Bonnie in Berkeley, after having not seen her since we flew back in from Thailand about 2 months ago. I think the ennui of work must be sinking in because I don't feel particularly guilty about taking a week off. Things will move along at their own pace, and since I am in email contact and waiting for other people to get back to me I don't mind as much.
The weekend was fun, I spent Saturday catching up with people I hadn't seen in a while. I had a drink with Lori P and Rachel on the roof top bar of the Crystal, and then I dropped by Katie's place to say hi. She was back from Boston and was head over heels for Lauren aka “Miss Boston”. She had a lot of photos and a new tattoo on her wrist, the Chinese character for “love”. I had hoped to see Johnny Walker, but he was out on the Madison rafting. Katie and I drove over to her sister's place and I met her brother Parker for the first time. We hung out there for a while in the sun, and then about 4 pm, I cycled back over to the lab to check email and chill out.
