The Long Kiss Goodnight.

Well, it's been an ok sort of day. I had to get up early for my Hazardous Waste Management class, so I managed to make it though that. Then I puttered away in the lab with a few experiments, although I didn't make any progress on my theoretical faculty presentation. It started off drizzling this morning, and by midday that had turned into sleet and finally snow. Half of the people in town love this because of the potential for skiing, the other half (like myself) find it quite the nuisance.

I had class between 1:30 pm and 3 pm that was long but somewhat ok. There is a girl in that class who is exactly my height, build and hair colour (minus my redness). She was dressed quite nicely today, which suggests I could look equally ok if I made the effort. The difference being that I cycle to work, and that work involves a lot of hazardous chemicals, so a skirt is not the best idea.

Anthony was in the lab between 3 and 5 pm, and after another experiment, we think we might have a lead on this weird reaction that never works. A non-chlorinated solvent may do the trick. About 5 pm after he left I received a call from Dee who said that she and Syd were celebrating her birthday down at the Ale Works. I missed a ride down with Jen who was joining them, but instead they picked me up as they went out to bowling around 6 pm. We bowled a set of frames, and then Robin joined us about 7 pm and we bowled another set. Then we went to the nice restaurant in the mall for dinner, and had quite a nice time indeed. Robin started getting a migraine after dinner, and so we decided to head home after some vital tiramisu.

I need to go jogging soon, as I am getting quite soft around the middle. Because of the sudden cold weather, I'll have to use the indoor track. I've also been getting acknowledgements about my job applications on a regular basis, but no extra requests just yet. I'm hoping the fish will start to bite around October 15th, hence why I need to get a head start of my faculty presentation.
