It's a soggy day here in Berkeley. I'm sitting in a coffee shop on Euclid Avenue and accomplishing very little. I had a quiet morning, checking my email and having coffee at a café on Shattuck Street. I dropped into see Bonnie as it started to rain, and she lent me her umbrella to complete my morning errands, including mailing Judy's present. Around 1 pm, we walked over so that she could go to work, and I could try to accomplish my own chores. Although I was in possession of a brand new purple umbrella, I still managed to get quite damp due to the incessant rain.
I am trying to figure out what I want to do next semester, which may be my last in Montana. If I take the job offer in Arizona, I will be confronted with a slew of new responsibilities and would it not be prescient to start on them as soon as possible? I would have two major responsibilities, teaching and research. The research will be in a new area, and I have not taught before so both will demand all my attention.
I was in the coffee shop this afternoon when I received a call from Dan. He wanted to grab something to eat, but I had to let him know that I was out of town. Almost as soon as I got off the phone, my doctor's nurse called. She had the results of my blood test, and my testosterone levels were well below what they ought to be, even for a woman. I will look into this when I get back.
