Well, I am back in Canberra at the YHA and the last two days have involved a great deal of driving. I was at home for over a week, and in that time Dad and I managed to finish the new wood shed. It's quite a feat of amateur engineering, and is certainly capable of handing much more wood than we could ever burn in a Winter. After finishing the woodshed on Sunday I was very lazy on Monday and Tuesday. The term “very lazy” might be a bit of a misnomer, as I still went for a run, in addition to helping garden and carry firewood. Yesterday (Wednesday) Mum and I drove up to Cowra and Forbes to visit relatives and see the places that we have lived before. It was very nice, and after staying in Cowra last night we drove South to Canberra. We arrived here after lunch, and after some chores and some shopping Mum headed home again.
I called Rachel, but she has told me to call back tomorrow, so I hope I will get to see her. I might have put her under some implied pressure, but if we just have coffee that's fine by me. I missed my old supervisor this afternoon, but I will try to catch him tomorrow. I will see Red on Friday afternoon, and maybe I'll watch some Eurovision with her.
Depending on how busy I am I will head home earlier or later on Sunday. This time next week I will be in Sydney and so I would like to spend as much of it as possible with my parents. I also need to start working on my class notes for the next semester, but that can wait until I fly out.
In other news, Kadie is in the mountains of California working on her hydrology internship. The little mountain town seems nice and I think she is enjoying herself. Unfortunately I didn't call her this evening because I was driving, but I wrote her a long email.
