Ugh, I think I am rather travelled out. I was thinking that I wanted to stay in Canberra for a bit longer but I am so tired that now I just want to get back home and sleep. It has been a very nice few days, but I am ready to chill out and do nothing for the rest of my holidays.
On Friday I caught up with my old supervisor, and the whole research group had lunch together at a Spanish restaurant. Afterwards I was going to see Red, but I received a phone message from her, and she didn't want any visitors. I had lost my ride back across the lake, and had to wait for a bus instead. Happily I was finally able to catch up with Rachel, and we had a nice time with me being in awe of her new Porsche. We trawled a comic shop, had coffee and cake, and then later Chinese for dinner. It was really good to see her, as she is a good friend I can talk with.
I got back to the hostel about 10 pm or so, but I didn't get too much sleep. One girl in my room was making noise all night, which was quite annoying. Then I woke up at 7:30 am to make it to my appointment on time to have my hair flattened. I was very happy afterwards, because my hair looked so nice. Peta collected me from the university, and we went to Tilley's to have breakfast and coffee. We hung out for a long time, however I had to come back to the hostel to have a shower, as I was feeling a bit icky. I am hoping we can meet up for dinner this evening, because I also booked a bus ticket to take me back home at 7:30 pm.
It's a been a nice couple of days, but being on the road so much has worn me down a little bit. I'm trying to avoid getting sick, as that always seems to happen when I come back to Australia.
