It has been a long day and I am crashed out in bed glad that it is over. Technically this should have been a quiet day, but as always I was running around from the word go, course notes, proposals, emails and worrying about the imminent move (which gets less and less imminent all the time). The laboratory classes were fairly quiet, so that was a bonus and I talked with my student about order more equipment. The move date has been shifted to just before Xmas, and that does not give me much time to get things prepared before the laboratory class next semester.
I had rugby training in the afternoon which enabled me to work off some of my stress. I hit a pothole coming back to my office in the dark, but fortunately I did not injure either myself or my bike. Tomorrow will be good once the lecture is over, as I have an interesting seminar by my faculty mentor at 3 pm, followed by free drinks at 4 pm, and then a brief night out with the girls later on Friday night. I cannot stay out too late because I have to be out the door at 7:30 am on Saturday morning for a carpool. We are heading south for a rugby match a few hours away, and that starts at 1 pm or so. I am coming back the same night because I have to submit my grant proposals as soon as possible. Thanksgiving is going to make things difficult, but at least I will not have to lecture next Friday.
