Los Alamos will burn with them...

It is currently Spring break here in Arizona, and the hot weather that began the week has been exchanged for something significantly cooler. Last weekend I spent too much time in the sun and today it has been raining on and off.

I have been tearing around town on my new motorbike! It is a "crotch rocket", or "rice-burner", or one of many other euphemisms for a plastic covered Japanese import street bike. I like it a lot, and now that Adam finally sent me my helmet I can take it for longer distances than simply down to the University and back. I know that it is important to know my limits, and yet to continue to push the boundaries. I am attempting to avoid poor driving conditions, whether that is rain, rush hour traffic or gravel, but I hope that by the end of the Summer I might be able to take it to Las Vegas for the Defcon convention.

Spring break has been busy, and only at rare times relaxing. I am ahead of myself on the lecture front, such that the rest of the semester will inevitably be busy, but not nearly quite as traumatic as the first half of the semester. Today I worked at grading students assignments and was mostly successful. I also spent time running around in the lab, which is an all too rare occurrence.

On Tuesday night I had another "date" with April and that was fun. We had dinner and then just hung out at a variety of stores. Alas I was not feeling very well, and so I saw her off on the bus and came home early. Ecole has been gone for much of this week, and she was home when I arrived back.

I talked with Kadie on Tuesday afternoon, and caught up with what she was doing. Her Spring break was a week earlier than mine, and so alas I was not able to get back up to Montana. She is doing well, and I think we both miss each other; nevertheless I am sure she is much happier with her new girlfriend.

What else? I had drinks and sushi with Alex, Sherri and Kathy last Friday, and that was a lot of fun. On Saturday I went out to Kathy's farm with Alex and Shelly, with Sherri, Bren, Kimberly and Diana arriving later. We had a fantastic evening of mystery punch, a bonfire and blaring Melissa Etheridge from the back of a truck. It was a very fun, very dykey evening.

The next weekend will be rather quiet. No parties or other social activities are yet planned, and lectures will start again soon. There are rugby matches scheduled in the next few weeks that will keep me my weekends busy.
