A morning of cattle work is now happily followed by a trip to the library and a latte in an outdoor café. Despite the slight winter chill I am feeling good, listening to Tool on my MP3 player. This time next week I will be back in the US, and so I will try to enjoy my remaining time as much as possible.
I feel better now than I did last night, Mum was on edge and I guess I was as well. Thankfully a bright sunny day and the successful completion of the cattle work means that everyone is feeling slightly better.
I am very much looking forward to the road trip that will occur after I return to Arizona. Sereana and I are planning on driving from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park, followed by a multi-day tour of Death Valley, Area 51, Las Vegas and other equally curious attractions. I do need to get back to Arizona so that I can properly direct my summer research students. I only have one month until the Rhode Island Conference, so I need to get some results happening.
On Sunday Mum and I will drive over to Canberra and then I will fly up to Sydney in the evening. My international flight leaves Australia in the early afternoon and I am hoping that because it is a Monday it will be a quiet flight.
