OK, just a quick entry tonight I hope, I'm fairly tired. Got up about ~9:00 am and went over to the lab. I was the first one there (~9:45 am) which was odd and puttered around for most of the day. I made few different starting materials which I had run out of. Finally got my overseas chemicals too which was good, hopefully they will last me a while.
Getting up was a bit of a hassle, I turned the computer on which automatically booted ICQ, sent a message saying I was on-line and got messages from Red and Susan, and I was sure as hell in no fit state of mind to answer them that's for sure. *lol*
About 12:30 pm I went over to meet Nikki for lunch. We chatted and did coffee and lunch at God's until about 2:00 pm. As always it was nice and friendly, and we chatted about much more than I could possibly include here. I returned to the lab and emerged later to get food from the Union and I bumped into Bridget who was electioneering for Sarah McC**** and I chatted to them for quite a while which was very nice. I headed back to the lab and puttered around for most of the afternoon and was feeling rather bored when Susan dropped by at around 5:00 pm. We had a good chat and I walked back with her to John's. She told me she had the Treasury job in the bag it seems, so that will be good. She can finally buy me that case of Z she owes me…*lol*
I kicked back and had dinner (packet-pasta) and vegged out. Finally emailed Mack and after a bit of TV, I came back and sent further emails to Michelle, Nikki and Soba.
Nikki gave me a very pleasant surprise today, a book on cosmetic treatments. Thankfully before I opened it, she said she didn't mean anything by it. *g* I'll be seeing her on Friday anyway.
Apart from that, not too much to report. I am very tempted to take a week off and go home, I'm not sure exactly when, but soon and before the Ball would be nice. I figure the Ball is on the 16th and if I would like to see Michelle before she goes to Melbourne around the 1st September, so maybe I could go home on the 4th and come back on the 12th? I'll have to organize new shoes for the ball and an appointment at Gloria's salon before I go though. However, just getting away from the rat-race will be very nice… of course there is still the parents to deal with. *ho hum*
