7:30 pm Sunday 12th September 1999

Hi all! Yes, I'm officially back in wonderful old Canberra… ;) So, I guess I should give all you diary junkies the low-down on what I've been up to!
Woke up at about 8:00 am on Saturday, and since I hadn't finished packing I had to get up and do that. Of course without a shower it took me about an hour to wake up properly. Thankfully, I was able to get my stuff together and into the back of the car and be on the road by about 9:45 am. I was driving to Canberra so that Dad wouldn't be too tired for the trip back. Unfortunately Dad wanted to go to Canberra via Wee Jasper which means driving almost straight through the Great Dividing Range and National Parks. This was pretty sucky, because it meant that I spent a lot of driving along rocky, single vehicle tracks with blind corners and lots of dust. The drive took slightly longer than going by the freeway, and the stress of driving was pretty bad…
So we got back to John's around 12:45 pm and I moved my stuff and chatted with Dad for a bit until he left about 1:30 pm. I said hello and gave hugs to Susan and Jules and talked to them briefly. Then I had to jump on my bike and cycle into town. I went to the Pharmacy and picked up my Roaccutane and Androcur, then I cycled back to Johns. Got all my paraphernalia together and went and had a shower. Washed my hair, shaved which was such a relief, then after over an hour in the bathroom, I came back here and shaved my face. Goddamn, it was so nice to get that growth off my face. Still, considering that I haven't shaved in about 10 days and the growth was only about 3 days of what I used to get and is much finer also, I'm really happy! :)
So after all my bathroom obligations were completed I did the internet thing and some domestic stuff, it was getting late so I got dressed and then Jules, Susan and myself headed over to catch the bus. We did some shopping for snack food in Manuka because Red had been too busy to get them, and then we walked to Red's place. There were a few people there already, so we just slotted into the conversation and kicked around for a fair while…
Red passed that cool hat around to collect the money about 8:00 pm, and not long after that Michelle showed up. I wasn't sure whether she was going to be able to make it or not. So we had a really good chat, talking about her time in Melbourne and Sydney, and her being a very naughty girl and drinking to excess at the wedding reception… *g* So yeah, Penny was there, and Paul, Heather, Lloyd, Astro, Bridget, a few friends of Red's who I didn't know and more people whom I'm sure I'll remember later…
The food eventually arrived, and everyone was sitting around chatting and having a really great time. :) No bitchiness or anything… Lloyd had to leave reasonably early, and of course other people trickled off through out the night. That left about 8 or 9 of us sitting in a square in the sitting room talking away and listening to the music I had brought which went down quite nicely…
About ~10:30 pm (I guess), Penny dragged my out of the lounge and around to Red's bedroom where Red was crashed out on the bed. She was feeling pretty crook, so me and Penny just sat there talking to her and holding her hand. Penny insisted we tell an utterly depraved version of Cinderella to cheer her up, so that was funny… after a while Penny had to go, so I chatted to her and then Susan came in and she chatted also. About 11:30 am (I guess) the others decided to leave. I asked Bridget to please give Michelle a lift home, which she did so that was really great of her (Thanks Gidget) :). So because there were too many of us, Bridget took Michelle back to Woden, Astro back to Johns and Heather to her house. Whilst they were being delivered, we had to decided whether to stay at Red's. Because Red was feeling better, we decided to go home. Jules gave her Bridget a ring on her mobile saying we needed her to drive the loop again. She did that and it was really great. We made sure we gave her extra petrol money, because with C****** in hospital, she has been doing lots of driving and staying up late…
So we got back to John's around 12:30 am and because of all the caffeine in my system I wasn't able to get to sleep until about 2:00am.
So yeah, the party was actually really good, everyone had a good time (except Red's tummy) and it was nice. I woke up this morning about 9:00 am with a damn alarm going off. I guess at least I'll be well trained for work this week… so I went down to brunch and chatted with Astro, then I came back here and bummed around. I didn't go to the lab today, neither did I go into Civic. I just spent most of the morning doing very little. I uploaded my diary entries, and that was about the main thing. About 2:00 pm Red dropped around! She was thankfully feeling much better and we chatted for an hour or more… then Susan and Jules arrived home from Heather's place, and we went up and chatted with them for a while. Red left about 4:45 pm to catch her bus and I came down to my room.
It's now 9:00 pm, and I've been writing this and on ICQ to Soba for the last half hour or so… I'll put this all on hold for a minute I think, I'm very tempted to go straight to bed…
Oh! Almost forgot to mention, I got the long-line shoe catalog finally, hurrah! They have some quite nice styles, however many of them only go up to size 12. Therefore, I'm hoping that I will be able to fit into that size. My stilettos are size 13 and with stockings they are slightly too big. This is including the tall heel on the back, so I'm going to probably try to order a pair in 12 and if they don't fit, then return them…

10:10 pm – More ICQ to Soba, and now that I've had a shower I feel clean but still worn out… alas, this is the price one seems to pay for the Androcur treatment… "tiredness – 13.5%"…
Okkie, now I'm going… *poof*
