THE GLITTER BALL PART III : THE RETURN OF THE TRANNY
Ok, I woke up at about 8:00 am on Sunday and dragged myself to the shower. I avoided messing my make-up too badly and I was dressed and ready to go by about 9:30 am. I decided to go out femme so I was a bit nervous, I had my wig, forms and coat so I hoped that would be sufficient disguise. The taxi came around to the back of Ursula, and the taxi driver definitely asked me more questions than normal, presumably in an attempt to suss me out… *s*
I got to the Rex at about 9:45 am and there was a fair crowd there. I chatted briefly with Michelle and then talked to Sharlene (Szusza's friend from Sydney) and Krissy which was nice, and then after a while we waved off the Sydney people who were getting back to Sydney on a hired bus. After that there was a general question as to what the native Canberran people and late leaving visitors do now? So we decided to go to Tilley's for a brunch type thing. I got a lift with Jen, and there was Gloria, Krissy, Ella, Catherine, Joanne, Christine, Julio, Jen and myself. Walking in was so much fun, because I could see myself in mirrored windows and I liked how I looked and being outside as myself in the fresh air, it was really great. :)
Going inside was maybe a mistake, because as soon as I was sitting down in a dark enclosed space my body started to go back to sleep again. I was just sitting there, then I just closed my eyes… and then Jen elbowed me gently awake again. *s* The conversation was OK, it was kind of split with a lot of the newer people at one end and the old hands down the other chatting amongst themselves. But that wasn't too bad, and we talked away over juice and coffee (some had champagne) for several hours. The conversation wasn't too spectacular, I of course was having trouble staying awake so I didn't contribute too much, but was content to just listen.
About 12:30 pm we decided to go our separate ways and Jen gave me a lift back to John's which was again nice of her. We got momentarily lost because I was yawning too much to give instructions. So I said goodbye and made it back to my own room and was perked up by seeing myself in the mirror. I had never really been convince that I could project a convincing female body image and then there I was doing it. No corset or hip padding, just me (well mostly). ;)
So I gave Jules a ring because with Boozer away I knew he'd bored. So after a while he came down and I'm still not sure what his reaction was. It seemed unsure but positive, but he didn't go screaming out of the room so that was good I guess. We chatted for a fair while and I tidied and it was good. I had one set of curtains open but didn't particularly care. If someone had knocked at the door I probably would have said "Come in" and watched the expression on their faces… *lol*
So anyway eventually Jules headed upstairs and I thanked him for coming down. I figured that I should scrape off the make-up at this point and thankfully it came off without too much hassle. My face was very tender not from the make-up, but from the scrubbing it had to endure, and my lips were very raw also.
By that time it was ~4:00 pm so I didn't get into town that day to get the photo developed. I had a brief snooze (I think) and Mum called later in the evening to ask how it had gone, and I sad it had been great. After that I cooked dinner and just relaxed in the post-Ball afterglow…
So there you have it, that's pretty much the whole weekend which I had and boy was it good. That was just the start of the week, so I didn't know that it would continue upwards… :)
Not to mention that yesterday was my one year anniversary for coming out officially, so I was really stoked. Also today is exactly 3 months till Xmas, so everything is going really great… ^_^
