8:15 pm Sunday 3rd October 1999

Great, now I have to catch up on the last three days, this is going to take forever…
Ok, I woke up about 8:45 am on Friday cause I couldn't really sleep. It was raining pretty hard and I knew it would be hell to get around. I had to wait for Bob to call before I could go and have a shower. We met at the front of Johns and gave him the notes he wanted. After that I went and had a shower and a shave, and thankfully that didn't take to long. I checked the mail and I got my credit card bill which thankfully isn't too excessive. After that Susan knocked on the door and invited me up for coffee. We chatted which was good, but coffee definitely tastes weird to me these days, but it was more the social thing… :)
So, after a while there I had to go and get changed. I went for my new gray top, jeans and new shoes. I'm not sure that it is a great look for me at the moment, but I'm still working on it. So after that I called a taxi and it pulled around into the back of Ursula college. The ride there was not helped by the utterly obnoxious cab driver making conversation. Thankfully we got there without too much trouble. Gloria was happy to see me and we got started without too much ado. At the same time that I was getting mine straightened, there were two ladies there getting theirs permed. *lol* So first the base went in to break the bonds in the hair, then it was combed straight and I had to wait for it to set for 20 minutes. Then the neutralizer went on and it had to sit for a while and be washed out… doesn't sound too complicated, but by 3:00 pm they were really rushing to dry my hair so I could get to meet Soba at the Jolimont. While I was waiting there, Krissy came in! It was really good to see her, but due to the roar of the hair dryers I couldn't hear anything. After that though, we had a good little chat whilst I sat there and then Jen walked in also! We had our usual little bit of banter and she went off to get her nails done. They called a cab and I was running really late.
I got to the Jolimont Center at 3:25 pm and said to Soba, sit here whilst I go to the Doctor's, I'm really sorry. So I ran to the Interchange Practice (in those shoes) and was puffing and panting rather badly by the time I got there. Dr S***** was running a bit late so I had time for composure and got to thrash out the issues with him in fairly short order. As a trial he put me on 2 mg a day of Progynova for a month and then moving up to 4 mg. Progynova is Oestradiol Valerate and should hopefully provide for redistribution of fat and other effects.
It took them 15 minutes to fill the script at the pharmacy, and by the time I got back to the Jolimont center it was 4:30 pm. So I finally gave Soba a proper welcome after having her sit there for two hours.
Regrettably we walked back to John's, because my feet were killing me by the time we got there. Dammit, why did I have to have size 12.5 feet instead of 12… Grrr…
So we got back to my place, and we were both feeling pretty tired, so after some chats and introductions to Susan, Soba and I both crashed. I woke up at 8:00 pm and was really in a flustered mood. I was running around trying to get ready and it didn't seem to be working very well. I hadn't done my makeup in ages and I was completely out of practice and time was ticking away. Unfortunately I forced a bit of my flusteredness onto Soba which was bad. However, eventually we were right to go, so I called a cab and after stuffing around there, we finally got a cab from the back of Ursula. I had forgone the wig and was just using my own hair for the first time! Yay! So we got to the restaurant which was in Aranda. Michelle, her Mum, Jen and her son T- were the only ones there, but thankfully we were having a good time on our own accord.

12:00 am – Ok, back to writing this thing up…
So we chatted away, and then a friend of Michelle's; Pip and her friend Carol turned up and we talked to them for a bit. Then a big crowd all arrived presumably from Elly's place where the lingerie party had been. There was Catherine, Elly, Deb from Sydney and a whole bunch whom I didn't really know, and then finally Szusza, Julia and Krissy arrived. The seating arrangement was pretty weird, I was on a medium sized table with my close friends, there was a big table of people whom I knew very casually, and then Szusza, Krissy and Julia on a small table just behind me. I think it worked out quite well.
So the evening progressed quite well, food was ample and good, it took me the best part of half an hour to eat my entrée, because I was chatting so much to everyone. T- was eating like a miniature whirlwind which was funny to see, and the conversation was really bubbly. My shoes were hurting my feet a little, but I thankfully only had to walk to the bathroom to touch up my makeup.
There were a few photographs taken inside, not too many though. About 11:00 pm, we decided to make a general move to wherever, and we all headed outside. Those who wanted to got pictures with Michelle (who was wearing this nice little grey dress) and thankfully Krissy took one for me. I absolutely must get a hard copy…
There were (as usual) lots of people and not too many cars, but fortunately Szusza had two spare seats in hers. We dropped off Nikki at her place, and then Soba and I decided to not go to the Meridian and we jumped out at the traffic lights near the corner of the University and walk back to Johns. We got back about ~11:30 pm and crashed in my room, and after a little while Susan and Jules came down (I think this was Friday night?). They had been seeing Jules's friend Thorin (sp.?) who had just come over from New Zealand. Jules's mother had sent over a book which was an autobiography of the first Transsexual Mayor, who was from a town to the north of Wellington. It was really nice of her, and the book was even signed! Thanks Mrs D*** ^_^
So we chatted away, and I was felling really comfortable as myself/Steph and I hadn't even bothered taking out the forms. Later Jules and Susan headed off to bed and Soba did the same. I was on a pretty good vibe as I usually have been recently, and was just doing a bit of email, when the fire alarm went off at about 1:00 am. That was a shock, because they had installed a new alarm right outside my door. I doubted it was anything serious, but I new a fire warden would be coming around to hunt us out of the building, so I took out my forms and put on my black coat and went up to tell Soba where we had to go. We wandered out the back where there was a fair crowd building, and Jules and Susan came down and we chatted away (I was in bare feet, thankfully it wasn't too cold) until the fire engines arrived and we were allowed to go back in.
Hmmm… so that was an interesting interlude. *s*
So not long after that I crashed out. I woke up reasonably early on Saturday, after a totally weird set of dreams. I seriously dreamt I was at dinner with a whole bunch of tranny's, and then I cam home and checked my ICQ?! I think my dreams are getting way to literal, because the day before I dreamt I was writing up my diary entry!?!
So I was feeling a little peckish, and we had finished all my milk drinking it with Irish Cream the evening before, so I tapped on Soba's door to ask if she wanted anything for breakfast. She woke up (I'm sorry!!!) and said no. Acton supermarket was closed, so I went into town (in thongs and with no helmet) and got some milk and other stuff. Came home and lounged about till Soba came down stairs about midday or so.
