Ok, what have I been up to?
Cycled over to the lab and was the first one there. Didn't put any reactions on today, worked on characterization data and other related stuff. I came home about 11:30 am and decided to cook pasta for lunch. Chatted to Susan for a bit who was looking for houses, and after grabbing my face cream I headed back to work about 12:15 pm. More writing and interpreting until 2:00 pm, when I went over to the Union court to see Red. She wasn't there, but Susan was. I rescued her from some Christians, and not long after that, Red came along. She had the most enormous hickey's on her neck, three of them. You could see them easily from 10 meters away. Susan headed off to class, and Red and I went to chat. Red had bought the enormous bottle of Bailey's which her friend Paul had bought for them. We were just sitting around and chatting and talking about stuff (loudly as usual). We were talking about hair straightening when a girl behind us piped up "No, don't do it!". She came over to our table and told us how bad the straightening had been for her curly hair, and we chatted away on that subject for quite a while. She recommended some stuff called "Frizz-Free" which she said was great. After while, it was 3:00 pm and we thanked her and we walked into Civic. I had to get my bag so that I could fill my Androcur script, and I bumped into Red's brother and had a brief chat. When I got back Susan was talking to Red. She was out on her class break, and apparently Penny had walked by close enough to see the hickey's and hadn't said anything. So after that, she was really mirthful and that was funny to see.
So Red and I walked into Civic and dropped off my script and picked up a trial container of the stuff which the girl had recommended.
Then Red got on the bus and went home. As she was getting on, I yelled " I'll get you some garlic." Referring to the marks on her neck which all the other passengers were staring at.
So I cycled back to work, after picking up my Androcur and got back about 4:00 pm. I had to wait a while so I could run a quick carbon NMR, but that was very useful in helping me to interpret my other spectra.
So about 6:30 pm I came home and cooked up some pasta with tuna, cheese and oyster sauce. I was going down the stairs at one stage when I ran into Jules who was coming home. At exactly the same time Mr. Bultitude was knocking on the door to be let in!
I finished cooking my pasta (not too bad actually), chatted with the Bultitudes who were now leaving, and chatted with Jules for a bit. Apparently his day had been a bit of a shocker, so we talked about fun with Bob and that cheered everyone up.
Washed up, sent some email and decided to have a shower. I conditioned my hair in preparation for tomorrow's onslaught and walked around outside afterwards to cool off. Went upstairs and chatted to Astro for a while, and knocked on Bridget's door, but she wasn't home.
After that I came down here I decided to write this thing up, and after a few emails and cleaning out my inbox, here I am.
So, tomorrow is the second D-day for hair, I know what to expect now and have lots of time, so hopefully it should be better this time around. :) *fingers crossed*
Got an email from Jen who is apparently about to leave for Palau again, she asked if I was free on Thursday, and of course I said yes and lamented her going. That as I said "leaves me as the only one to keep the Canberran TS embassy open…" Tongue in cheek obviously, but it will get a bit lonely I think…
