God, where the heck did the time go? It seems like I only just got back from work…
I've been updating my Biography (Stephanie's Story), and it's been bringing up a lot of old and mixed emotions. I remember the awful times at school and those sort of things. I feel anger at being cheated out of young womanhood and realise after much soul searching that perhaps it was not meant to be, and maybe only now am I on the right track… I see the opportunities missed and the tiny breakthroughs which I made… I see that only the finest of knife-edges separated me from starting 5 years earlier or 20 years to late…
Never mind, all that is in the past which cannot be changed, only savored for better or worse.
Today… woke up at 8:30 am, got up at 9:00 am. Had breakfast and got into work about 10:00 am and just did little stuff. I went into town about 12:00 pm for money and ordered a new bank card. I bummed around until 1:00 pm when I had my dermatologist appointment. He renewed my Roaccutane script, and gave me some anti-biotic for what he said was an infection around my nose. He said there was probably less acne then there appeared to be because Roaccutane irritates the sweat glands. This gave me some hope, and I will be back to see him in 6 weeks, that will be about a month before Xmas.
I picked up my script and got my money back from Medicare. It was a really bad day for hay-fever because of all the fluff and they had been mowing the grass. I got back to the lab and A****'s wife was there with their new baby. He was kinda cute I suppose, I was quite interested since I'd never seen a close up baby in real life before and so that was interesting. Red called at 2:00 pm and we went and had drinks and chats which was good. She had finally handed in the essay which had been haunting her for he last week or so.
After she headed off home, I went back to the lab and did very little. I did a few minor experiments, but nothing I was really expecting to work. I scanned some photos for Red and at about 5:45 pm I headed home.
I had pasta cooking for dinner, and went and had a chat with Susan and Jules and Lloyd who was there also. I was feeling pretty worn out (my bum was still sore from Saturday) but I brought up the photos and they all had a good look and laugh at them. Lloyd headed off to dinner, and so did I.
Took all my medication, and kicked back. I went and washed my hair, and put some of the frizz-free stuff in it. I dried it with the new hair-drier (did I mention that?) and it was looking quite reasonable… I certainly still have no lack of volume, that's for sure…
After that I went back and chatted with Susan and Jules who were doing their tax form, and after a while I came down here.
I loaded up the picture of me sitting on the steps onto the "Who is" page and updated and filled in the biography some more and after chatting with Soba on ICQ, here I am!
The eye infection seems to be clearing up, I can tell because before all this crappy green junk would end up blocking my nose as I slept. I was able to breath fairly normally this morning. I'll stick on the drops for 10 days like the doctor ordered. I'm not really sure whether there is an infection in the skin around my nose, but he's the dermatologist and not me, so I'll stick to those big-ass pills for 10 days just like he said… I'm currently on 5 different prescription drugs, and 6 if you count my hay-fever medication. Personally I wish I didn't have to take any of them, but unless my butch fairy godmother is going to come down and make me a female with really good skin and no hay-fever or infections, I'll have to stick to them… *sigh*
Ok, it's now 11:15 am, and I suppose this is as good as time as any to head off to bed… *wave* :)
