Well today thankfully was a heck of a lot better than yesterday, at least nothing totally dreadful happened. I tried my oxidation reaction three times today and all three times it did not work. All I got back was my starting material. I believe the poor solubility of KMnO4 in chloroform maybe be the problem. I have been following the instruction perfectly, and it has not worked. This is rather off putting. :(
Today I have been felling rather poorly, the scrape up my arm was swathed in a bandage to stop my lab-coat from irritating it. My pubic bone is also extremely sore. This is from ramming my pelvis into the handle bars yesterday. An inch lower and I would have performed my own penile inversion… but all I have is a large bruise showing through my pubic hair and considerable pain if I jump about too much.
Mum called tonight to say that my bank thingy was in the mail, so it was nice to talk to her again. I wonder whether my brothers talk to her as much or in the same way that I do? I doubt it, but one never knows…
I have been thinking about telling my brothers at Xmas time, since that is the only time where I will see them in person for another 12 months. I'm not entirely sure how that will go down, it may well depend upon how many clues I drop before I drop the big bomb itself. I don't think there will be enormous problems, but I definitely don't want to presume that things will necessarily be fine.
I got Fortean Times today, so that was a nice read. I am organizing lunch with Szusza for Thursday, I just need her confirmation.
I just sent another email to Peta (Jen) just saying what was happening and so forth. She hasn't updated her diary in quite a while (over a month) which suggests she has been very busy looking after T-.
Ok, now I'm just rambling. I'll confirm that lunch date with Szusza, wish Red good luck with her speech and then crash.
