12:00 am Saturday 18th December 1999

Ah, the last Friday has departed, even the time agrees that it is now officially the weekend.
I just got back from the Med, I cycled over at 11:00 pm because I thought the other (Ellie, Deb etc) might have been there, and it would have been nice to have a good time on the town before heading home. However, there wasn't anyone I knew there except for the other Steph. I really would like to get a chance to talk to her, knowing that she has gone full time and presumably is on hormones, getting electrolysis and so on, but Dammit, I just can't seem to bring myself to introduce myself to strangers. Of course I've already been introduced several times, but just can't seem to get that hook into making good conversation. It was a pretty big jump just going by myself to the Med tonight, so I think things are getting better. :) I may drop by again tomorrow night and have another quick look. Szusza will be back in town, so there might be a few people dropping by. Who knows, even if there isn't perhaps I'll force myself to get up and dance. *g*
Today was more yechy data entry, but I do believe that I have most of it under control, including having rechecked a lot of stuff. I also found a vial of C6F5I which is good because now I can remake the last 4 compounds cleanly.
I definitely do not want to become some sort of closet beauty queen, locked up in a tower of my own making. But I don't want to go out if there isn't any one to socialize with, I'd be better off here at least listening to music I like with the comforts of home and the proximity of bed. I don't go out to dance, I don't go out to drink, I go out to be with and enjoy the presence of my friends. That may include drinking and dancing, but those pleasures (?) are secondary. I think that is a legitimate reason, and not just an excuse I'm making up.
Just chatting to Krissy on ICQ, this accursed flu is still kicking my ass. I think I may have actually picked it up at the Interchange and not my supervisor. I figure I was reading all these old magazines which had been handled by any number of festily sick people, and got it that way.

12:40 am - Just cooking some rice. Tomorrow I will (with the able assistance of a high pressure hose) defrost the fridge. Oh the excitement never ceases around here does it…

Actually,
IMPORTANT NOTICE

I'm sorry! What again? I want to apologise to the people whom I never actually got back to emailing. I know there are more than a few people out there who I kept in contact for a while and then due usually more to exhaustion rather than apathy, I eventually never replied to.
If you want, email me now, and I will have the biggest guilt trip, which might provide quite some amusement to you. It wasn't intentional, it just happens that way. Hey, are you slaving on a Ph.D.? No, then stop hassling me out, I already said sorry.
END OF NOTICE

I've been meaning to do that for a while.

It's interesting. There are three diaries which I read on a regular basis, all of which belong to young Tranny's, and all of which have their own distinct style to them. First there is mine, written on a roughly daily basis and uploaded weekly. Then there is Illara's, written about once a week and presumably uploaded about the same time. Then there is a tranny Goth grrl (Sherilyn Connelly from San Francisco who writes during the day and updates as well (with time markers).
The styles are harder to describe, without being specific it's usually about what is or has happening. Sherilyn talks about her work, her new girlfriend and so on. Illara goes for the much heavier stuff, like the recent suicide of a friend. And me? I guess I talk about any old fluff really. Reading early entries and then the later ones, there is quite a marked difference because I can finally start talking about more intimate deeper things, rather than what I did at work that day. Not that there is much happening to really talk about anyway, but hey I guess this fills in the time and can be funny to read when I look back at it. Also, without these I would always be saying "Wow, where did the year go?" Now I know where the year went, mostly it got slept away. ;)

I wonder if it's possible to OD on rice? I guess not… what about a combination of breakfast cereal and rice?

Ok, time for sleep… sleep is for sheep? Baaaaa….
