Ah… so few days until Y2K, so many American idiots.
I mean c'mon, do you really think that the incredibly rich industrial tycoons really want to spoil their nice little lifestyle, or that the government leaders are going to let the power they hold slip away? Of course not, here we have the best kind of example of human stupidity and gullibility. Ah… it's like religion all over again.
Ok, enough of that, there's only 14 days to go anyway, and even if it happens it will be a walk back to my room for a snooze anyway and then home if need be.
Hmmm… so, what exciting things happened today? Chatted to Michelle early (10:30 am) this morning. I figured I might not get another chance to chat until after NYE, so I just wanted to check she was doing Ok. Thankfully, everything seems from what I heard to be good. Shopping mainly after that, I went looking for gifts for about 3 hours in Civic. Thank heavens for the 30+ sunscreen. I found some stuff, but hey it's not that interesting anyway.
Came home, snoozed and then just bummed around. Cleaned the small glacier out of the fridge and then went grocery shopping for the last few days before home comes along.
Hmmm… what else? Oh, I ran into Rob H in the Canberra Centre today, and we had a nice chat. He'd dyed his hair blonde and it was nice to talk to him. I also saw Jed (I think, one of the ex-John's presidents) looking very country, but I'm pretty sure he didn't see me. I was feeling pretty good about how I looked today, I believe that at casual inspection I just look like another girl in the street which is my aim. There's the voice thing which I still have to get down, and that isn't helped by the persistent flu. Once I get off the Roaccutane, I will feel (within myself) more convincing, because the persistent redness of my arms, chest and face will hopefully go away. The only thing which I am worried is that I may suddenly get a huge crop of pimples when I go off the stuff, however there is apparently a lag time because certain metabolites don't leave the body for up to two months, hence the two month embargo on electrolysis.
Oh yes, nearly forgot, last night after I closed my diary, I got an email from Peta! In short, she seems to be having an extremely intense time over there. Working very long hours and I gather stressing too much. Xmas to after NYE will be the worst, but that I guess is the way the cookie crumbles, and there isn't too much I can do except offer her moral support.
Just reading about laser electro, it seems that the techniques are multiplying and getting better which is good to hear. Hopefully by the time I can be able to afford it, this might be an option. It seems like a good way of reducing the amount and size of the hair until I can afford galvanic to clean up the rest. Hey, I'm doing research, this is scary. ;)
11:30 pm - Ok, off to the Med again. If I'm not back by dawn, don't bother with the search party. If I am, hey I tried my best. *g*
12:30 am - Ok, call off the search party. I went to the Med, and there was a Drag Show in progress (the "Bent Bitches of Braddon") and hence a $3 cover charge. I saw Elly there and gave her a tap on the shoulder and a brief hello as she went by with some friends of hers. I then searched but to no avail, I saw Steve and the other organizer of Spring-Out (don't know her name) and the other Steph also. The lights were up during the drag show so it was a good chance to look, but no-one else. I did get up and dance (so there *blows raspberry*) ;) and that was actually quite good fun, but having just peoples backs facing me was rather off-putting, so when the music turned ordinary I went for a walk. Came back, had a stolly and more dancing. Whilst sitting outside letting my ears recover, I figured "Oh well, maybe New Years". I don't know, these day I just can't seem to enjoy myself without friends.
I was going to give Susan and Jules a call to enquire if they wanted a visitor on Sunday, but I never got around to it and also my phone has no credit. *sigh* I'll ring them tomorrow from the gold phone perhaps, it might also be an excuse to look at the shops in Woden.
I find that I am able to get about one real conversation a day it seems, many from unexpected sources i.e. today Rob H. That's cool, at least with the supervisor back I get to talk about work (oh yippee).
1:30 am- Now I've heard everything, the Pokemon song on Rage. Perhaps world wide destruction isn't such a bad idea?
