Today was fun. Not necessarily productive as the others, but fun nonetheless.
As some might know, it appears that I will be marching in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on the night of Saturday March 4th. I will be marching with the collected Canberra contingent (love that alliteration) of such organizations as PFLAG, Transgender Outreach (TGO), the Canberra Bears and so on. Many of the people I know are going, and not unexpectedly I guess they are going the full glam, over-the-top look. I originally was going to go for this look, but I was lying in bed last night wondering what I would wear when I though to myself, I'm not a Drag queen, I'm not a transvestite or cross-dresser, I'm a transsexual woman and specifically a lesbian… and subsequently I have decided to go and pass as a lesbian because that is what I am, and this whole festival is about showing off one's "true-self" and being proud of that.
So, what does a lesbian look like? Well, that's not exactly an intuitive question for someone as used to breaking stereotypes as myself. So, maybe I'll go for a white singlet with "Butch Grrl" on the front and on the back "and on the 8th day God got it right…" I don't know, I know I'm not a transvestite, cross-dresser or drag queen, and that leaves me as a woman. Oh well, I thought it was an important realization.

10:20 pm - I got some old film which I had just finished on the weekend developed today. I immediately destroyed the ones which had me in them, but the rest were mostly Ok, but nothing to exciting. Also today was "Market Day" where the University clubs try to recruit people. I was going past when I bumped into Astro. He said that "Neon Genesis Evangelion : The Movie" was showing for free and I was hooked. I joined the animee society and had a great afternoon. Before the movie were two episodes of "Ranma 1/2" which is a animee series about a boy who turns into a girl when splashed with hot water. Suffice to say if that were me, I'd have one hot shower and then never again for the rest of my life. ;) But it was very funny, and I now know why it is so popular amongst the people on the Anti-Jen list.

11:10 pm - Tonight is the middle of Orientation Week (O-Week) at this University, and typically here at John's College where I live, it's usually a "Gender-Bender" night. Unusually however, this year it was cancelled and changed to another event. I can't help but grin… what's the matter college boys? Afraid you'll compromise your masculinity and enjoy it? *g* I guess they'll have to compensate their latent homosexual tendencies by getting naked with each other and/or playing rugby… Me, being sarcastic? Never… ;)

11:50 pm - Apart from joining the T* diary web-rings, I have been fiddling with my page and trying to slim it down and redesign it to make it more interesting. Time as always will tell…
