Yawn, Jeeze I'm stuffed. Today was Ok I guess… I've been trying to lose this damn roll around the stomach (why won't it go onto my hips?) and so today was complete with fasting and jogging. Work was slow and uncertain, I will have to wait for a mass spectrometer scan to come back tomorrow before I can say anything either good or bad…
Tonight on the ABC's "Foreign Correspondent" there was a long piece about a transsexual called Robyn who travels to Thailand for her GRS. This is Robyn who has been on the bottom of my ICQ since last September and who I never got back to chatting to. The report was well presented, non-sensational (mostly) and balanced. It also discussed the "dodgy" plastic surgeons which can be encountered in Thailand as the number of operations swells. I wonder how the report will go down in "a small Australian town" (actually T**** up on the coast)? I was surprised that they showed a shot of the actually penis (not a close up) during the operation, though they got it wrong by suggesting penile inversion was novel and didn't mention she had a colon segment also.
Out of curiosity I went to the chat site which was hosting the discussion on the three segments they had shown that night… I now remember what I hated about chat rooms… Rather unsurprisingly there were a lot of tranny's there also. I saw in rapid succession, Suzy J, Toni-Lee, Gail B, Annie C, Szusza, myself and a few more whom I recognized. Things like this tend to get passed around by word of mouth. After the flames, rants, stupidity in the forum (thankfully not from the trans people) reached a critical level (after about 15 minutes) I logged off.
Back to the afternoon, I had gotten home about 7:15 pm and Peta B rang to say hello. I chatted to her for quite a while and this above mentioned show came up, I had also been reminded by Soba earlier, but couldn't find her number without my internet address book. So Peta and I had a good chat, she had been feeling a bit crook (the joke was that it was menopause *lol*) but was feeling better which was good to hear.
At 2:00 pm I had lunch with Red and Bridget dropped by momentarily. After she had gone, Red mentioned that her mother and her had a little chat, which began discussing her potential name change and which had then gone into the territory of her sexuality. All in all, the reaction wasn't bad and seemed to be the "it's just a phase" classic denial. I for once was able to sympathize greatly. ;) A friend of hers from "Red 26" (her gay girl support group from last year) came by and we all chatted. Catherine is (IMHO) quite a catch for me, tall, solid, a lesbian, attractive… Hmmm… wonder what her opinion is on tranny lesbians? *g*
Set up appointments for hair, eyebrows and lashes, facial and I'll organize the manicure tomorrow. I'm getting a bit excited, I haven't had a whole weekend off in ages, this will be hectic, but I'll deal with it. ^_^
Ok, mucho tired, to bed…
