Ok, yesterday after noon about 4:00 pm I drove down to Woden to finally return Jules's "Sailor Moon" videos. Luckily this time he was home, though Susan was out working. So we just bummed about until Susan got back at about 5:30 or so. She then suggested that we might drop around to Red's place for pizza and videos. Red said her Mum wasn't leaving until 7:30 pm, so that gave me time to get back to Johns and shower and change.
So we dropped around to Red's and after taking a while to decide what to watch "Starship Troopers", Jules and I picked up the pizza and we were away.
The video was hilariously bad (I had seen it before) and after it was over we just lay about watching crap TV. It was really nice to get out for a change, I had originally been intending to go to the Meridian and see who was there, but I got back to Civic at about 12:30 am and was too stuffed.
In all honesty, there were two reasons why I wanted to go to the Meridian, the first was that I hadn't seen people like Szusza and the other TV's in a while, and secondly, I was actually more than half wanting to pick up.
I know I'm not the most overtly sexual of people, but occasionally deep within I get stirrings to find temporary comfort and intimacy with another. I'm in a position where the field is wide open, with a few twists of logic I could end up with most anyone. I know I'm young, and I know I am (somewhat) attractive, I know I really want intimacy more than sex, but sometimes compromises need to be made. *sigh*
But, I never made it there, so perhaps next week might be the one to do, it will be the Easter very long weekend (Friday to Tuesday inclusive). Nikki and I might be going down to the Tidbinbilla Space Center just south of Canberra on the Friday, and I think I may be doing coffee with Peta and potentially Michelle if she comes down for Easter.
The Johns network isn't working (Ha, how unusual) so I guess I'll be heading over to the lab reasonably soon to work up some reactions and check email. There is some "World Peace Rally" over at Parliament house today, I don't know how big it is, or what it involves, but I might go over just to look.
The national Gallery of Australia is hosting the "Book of Kells" a very old hand illustrated prayer book from Ireland, so I may even drop by and look at that as well.
I might even give Soba a ring to catch up on her first day or two at work.
10:20 pm - Finally sent an email to Szusza. I haven't heard from her since the cruise.
I went over to the Gallery this afternoon, just as it stated raining. It was really coming down by the time I got there, but thankfully I had my umbrella. The Gallery was quite good (what I saw of it) however I didn't know that they were charging admission to see the Book Of Kell's. Since I had no money, this left me to trawl the rest of the museum. I was quite fascinated by Jackson Pollock's "Blue Poles" and was surprised that they had some quite well known pieces such as Marcel DuChamp's "Bicycle Wheel" and Salvador Dali's "Lobster Telephone". It was a bit of a bummer not having anyone else there, but hopefully I can go back someday. After that I did some brief window shopping in Civic, bought some food and then came home, all the time it was continuously raining. Oh well, I guess the rain must be good for the um… fungus? *g*
I've been thinking about looking at BeOS, the Be Operating System. Apparently it is an open source, very good OS. The only problem is compatibility problems. It is a tiny zip file available free, as compared to the juggernaut Windows I have to run currently. Being some what security wise, I also unhappy with the NSA and other backdoors in Microsoft products.
12:10 am - Sometimes I wish I could talk to someone who would be heart-rippingly honest, no holds barred. That when I ask them a question they neither are concerned with how I or others might feel about what they might say. Perhaps I'm just too cowardly to ask for the truth…
12:40 am - Sometimes I wonder whether my life might benefit from a rewind button… time as always will tell…
