Hmmm… what to do today? Theoretically there are a few things to do, but what the heck, it's nice and warm in front of the heater.

Ok, a quick catch-up. Thursday Soba and I drove over to Tumut. Mum was just getting home from town as we arrived (~11:00 am) we had a good couple of hours though I was fairly tired from not sleeping much the night before. Dad also dropped back around, and thankfully things weren't too bad there, which was a relief even though I was looking pretty femmy.
So, it was nice to get home and just not do very much. Soba went horse riding which she has always loved, so I was glad she was able to indulge in that. I dumped a whole lot of junk which I figured should be shifted before I move to Toad Hall. We left about 4:30 pm and got back to Canberra about 7:00 pm, and I was so stuffed I just crashed almost straight away.

Friday was a good day too. I got to do some work in the lab now that some starting material had arrived. Then Peta G called! She was recuperating at home after she had returned from her rhinoplasty and we briefly chatted on the phone. After a while, everything was going smoothly, so I went over for a visit and brought some Proteas (Australian Native flowers, of which she is a big fan) with me and we had good chats and coffee.
I had to get back to the lab at about 3:30 pm, the safety inspection had been through and there hadn't been any problems, so that was good. Then after working some more I went to the Animee club (as usual) and chilled out there. It was absolutely freezing and I quickly cancelled any idea of going into Civic for late night shopping and came home to crash.

3:50 pm - Hmmm… the drop in Androcur dosage is making itself felt, that's the second time this year! ;)

This evening, Szusza is having a birthday party, and a fair number of the CD's are going to it. I am going (I said I would) but still, I am a bit wary. I want to "pass", I want to blend in to the crowd. I dress mostly in jeans or pants, I don't even think I own a skirt, and if forced to buy one, I'd opt for long and elegant. The reason is that I do this for my peace of mind, for the fact that I am no longer internally conflicted. However, often when going out with the Canberra "girls" I may as well wear a sign saying "Weirdo at large". Although I do like being around them, it blows my mostly successful attempts at passing.
I often joke with Red about my "Anti-Mormon Shield" where they don't know what I am and hence avoid me. Well, this failed today when one approached and said "Have you ever heard about God's precious message Ma'am?" This coupled with the window washer at the lights who asked "Can I do your windscreen Ma'am?" I of course immediately said yes and tipped him a dollar. ;)

I've still got 4 hours before I have to get to the restaurant, so I figured I may as well use what is left of the Canberra day and go for a jog. I just warmed the car up, so hopefully I won't have to bike it to Dickson. *s*

11:30 pm - The dinner was actually really nice, quite funny at times. Fortunately my fears were for the most part ungrounded. Peta B was nice enough to give me a lift and I felt a bit more relaxed sitting next to her at the dinner table. Quite a good night, and I had three Stolly's which is more alcohol than I've had to drink in a while. *silly grin*
