Amazing how the little things can cheer you up. There I was thinking my monitor had crapped out, and one last futile jiggle of the connection and "presto", instant (almost) relief for my writing addiction.
I did write some stuff when I was over at the lab a little earlier, but I'll cut and paste it in later.

Today was nice. I had rung Peta B on Saturday morning but got no response, however I was very happy because she called me later that night after getting back from up the North coast.
So, we met up today around noon and went for a wander about, doing a mixture of lunch, coffee, window shopping, sitting in Glebe Park chatting and so on. It was kind of weird, as we were walking down towards Electric Shadows, who should be walking up in the opposite direction, but my supervisor, his wife and their two kids. We said a brief hello from a distance, and kept walking. I had my breast forms in, but I'm not sure how obvious they were as I was wearing my jacket. Suffice to say I imagine there is very little which would surprise them these days anyway. ;)
Next week is their little party to celebrate the research group's 10th anniversary, but I'll see them tomorrow anyway, though I doubt anything will be said.

Barber's "Adagio for Strings" is a piece of music I've fallen in love with. It's so incredibly sad, but so beautiful… it's something that might be played when an angel dies…
For those not aware, it is featured in the film "Platoon". A film which I also saw when I was still young and emotional. I remember being torn up when Sergeant Elias (Willem Defoe) was killed in the landing zone running from the enemy, I don't know if I cried.
