Today in brief. Went to Tilley's because I thought coffee was today (Saturday) as opposed to Sunday when it actually will be. *blush* Went into town, did some window shopping (I'm too poor to even buy stuff at Target) where I saw some really nice clothes. There were some pants I really liked, but they were too expensive… oh well… after payday… and more importantly I used the women's change rooms for the first time. This may sound like I'm making a big fuss over nothing, but I was by myself, and I just relaxed and played the situation out as though it was the most natural thing in the world, and everything went fine. Usually I'd be too chicken to do something like that on my own, but even though on Friday night I was feeling very down about my appearance, I guess considering all the positive feedback I've had recently I felt I had nothing much too lose.
In the afternoon I did some more reference hunting at the lab and the Honours student E**** came in to take care of an experiment. Anyway, we got talking as you do, and after a while she asked the question… which is to say, that after a lot of umm-ing and ah-ing on her part, I said "Yes, I am a transsexual".
This lead into an fairly interesting discussion and I found out that apparently most of the department have questions about me, but a lot of them still haven't worked things out. I was quite astonished by this, as I thought I had been dropping hint after hint for over a year now.
Anyway, that was a very eye-opening conversation, and it's kind of a relief to actually know where I stand, like a ship in fog catching sight briefly of a land-mark to chart it's position.
After she left, I went and got changed for the gym. The tread-mills were crowded, so I went outside for a jog where I bumped into Megan. As I walked her back to Johns we had a nice long conversation, and she had been a very naughty girl at the Law Ball the previous night. ;)
After we said goodbye, I went back to the gym for another half-hour, and then home to shower, and attempt to snooze but was interrupted by one phone call after another until at 8:00 pm I drove down to pick up Susan and Jules for pizza and movie at Red's place. It was a nice night in, and the price of the petrol is more than worth the opportunity to see my friends.
Ok, I need to get some sleep for tomorrow… funny how things feel best after some mild deprivation… food, sleep, love… ahhh…
