10:30 pm - Wednesday 16th August 2000

It's the middle of the working week, of course since I usually work weekends, that really doesn't mean all that much to me personally…

Just looking at my entries from this time last year, gosh I was being rather prolific. I suppose I was adjusting to the hormones, and preparing for probable transition, so I guess I had a lot to write about.
Today thankfully was somewhat easier to compensate for the last two weeks or so. I bummed about, and then at 12:30 pm I went into town and had lunch with Peta G. She had been knocked about rather badly by the flu, so it was good to see her back on her feet again. We chatted about everything and nothing as always, and it spieled out for quite a long, nice time until I had to walk briskly back to the lab at 2:00 pm. For the third day in a road I had to make the onerous journey over to laser physics to run samples. Fortunately it wasn't too bad, mainly because I only ran a few samples (it takes about 45 minutes to run a single sample, and I have about 30 which need measurement).

These CIT workshops are good fun, but I find that they do become a bit of a drain when coupled with activities on other days plus a full work-load. In September of last year I took a week off (when my supervisor was overseas) to have a rest, I don't know whether I want to do anything similar this year.

It's kind of weird, as I sit here with the heater blasting, I don't feel particularly warm, until I look in the mirror and see that my cheeks (and just my cheeks) are bright crimson red and hot as hell. It's a very weird look, and certainly not one I'm trying to achieve. Why my body is trying to dump it's excess heat out of those small, very localized areas is something I'm not entirely certain about. Ok, that's enough weird personal information for one day I feel. ;)
